Courses Eligible for the Course Exchange

Faculty teaching courses in the Course Exchange are recognized by their peers as providing high quality online courses that are aligned to the OEI Course Design Rubric.  To participate in the Course Exchange, a faculty member must complete the following eligibility requirements:

  • Anticipate teaching the online course at an OEI Consortium member college.
  • Have taught the online course in the Canvas course management system for at least one term.
  • Have successfully completed the OEI Course Review process with an online course that meets the following criteria:
    • Attained a C-ID designation
    • Prerequisites aligned with C-ID
    • Included in an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT: AA-T, AS-T), general education transfer pattern (IGETC), or Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway.
    • At transfer level if in Mathematics, English, or English as a Second Language (ESL) subject areas
    • Fully online with the possible exception of on-campus proctored exams

To begin the eligibility process, faculty are encouraged to contact their local college distance education coordinator for further details. Applications for OEI Course Review that meet the above college and course criteria will be given priority; faculty undergoing OEI Course Review receive access to instructional design and accessibility support at no cost.
