The Online Education Initiative (OEI), in partnership with @ONE, offer workshops that assist CCC faculty and staff from throughout the state in aligning online courses to OEI course design standards.
Applying the OEI Course Design Rubric
Open to all CCC instructors, this one-day workshop helps online instructors develop an understanding of the components of the rubric and discover additional ways to modify their own classes to improve the experiences of their students. This workshop is also the first step for those wishing to become Peer Online Course Reviewers. In addition, this workshop supports local colleges that wish to incorporate elements of the rubric into their local course review process.
Peer Online Course Review (POCR) Training
After completing the workshop, “Applying the OEI Course Design Rubric”, online instructors interested in becoming OEI peer reviewers are eligible to participate in the POCR training. During this fully online training, participants will be required to review an online course by providing review responses for each area of the rubric. Upon successful completion, participants are eligible to apply to @ONE, on a contract basis, to perform course reviews for the Online Education Initiative.
In addition, @ONE offers training in Getting Started with Canvas, creating accessible online courses, and many more opportunities for instructors to enhance their skills in teaching and learning.
